Title	Parish Books
Description	Volumes comprise lists of rate-aided patients arranged alphabetically by the parish chargeable for their board. Information contained includes patient name, number, and date of admission, discharge and death. Any changes are also recorded, e.g. if the responsibility for payment of board is changed from one parish to another. Information relates to patients from local parishes (Interns) and those from parishes outside the region (Externs). Names of patients included are those still resident when volumes were created, as a result volumes contain names of patients admitted as early as 1843. Covering dates of volumes relate to the date the volume was created not the patient admission date.
