DescriptionSederunt and Minutes Books detailing the meetings held by the various Boards and their Committees which oversaw the management of the hospital. These were the Board Direction which comprised the Board of Trustees and Directors of the Crichton Royal Institution, 1840-1897; the Board of Directors of the Crichton Royal Institution, 1898-1948; and the Board of Management of the Crichton Royal Mental Hospital 1948-1971. From 1898 to 1912 the minutes of meetings of the various Committees were kept separately in a set of four volumes of copy minute books, DGH1/2/1/3. There are also eighteen volumes of duplicate minute books covering 1909-1914, DGH1/2/1/4. In addition there are nine volumes of minutes and related material that were kept by Medical Superintendents Drs Rutherford and Easterbrook covering 1883-1937, DGH1/2/1/5 and DGH1/2/1/6.
